In India, there are six days declared as martyrs day.  30 january is a date observed by the government of India for the commemoration of martyrs for the great nation in india. The great leaders who have an important role for making India independent. 

Martyrs day is a day to recognise with  honour those who have a bigger contribution for the best efforts for making india freedom from the britishers. This day is observed by the indian government on 30 january ,via national level. 

The date for celebration martyrs day is chosen to be dedicated to the great leader of mohandas karamchand gandhi formerly known as (mahatma gandhi) who was shot by nathuram godse on 30 january.

THE MEANING OF MARTYRS ;-

Martyrs day is an annual day observed by indian government nations to salute the martyrdom of the soldiers who have lost their lives for defending the empires of the nation.  The actual date  may vary from one country to another.

MARTYRS DAY 2020

Martyrs day hindi meaning as  shaheed diwas celebrated every year on march 23.  Shaheed diwas is celebrated for those who sacrifice their  lives for us and the independence of India and make it freedom. The great leaders are remembered in our mind for their contribution to making India become independent.

These days are tribute to Bhagat Singh, Sukhdev Thapar and Shivaram Rajguru who died on 23 march 1931. They all were hanged because of their hard effort for glory,welfare, progress and for  independence of india.

MARTYRS DAY 2021

Martyrs day is celebrated twice in a year. It is a day that remembers the victims of the violence from human rights violations as well as those who were fighting for justice. On 30 january 1948 , mahatma gandhi the father of nation was killed by nathuram godse at the gandhi smriti in Birla house.

They  all are the sources of inspiration for the youth of India. At such a young age, they came forward and for the independence they fought with bravery.

About Bhagat Singh and Their Companions

Bhagat singh was born on 28 september ,1907 in lyallpur, punjab. Bhagat Singh and his companions Rajguru, Sukhdev, Azad, and Gopal fought for the killing of Lala Lajpat Rai. Bhagat Sing became an inspiration for youngsters due to his daring adventures. 

He accompanied his companions on 8th April,1929 . when the Central Legislative Assembly read the slogan “Inquilab Zindabad” by throwing bomb and because of this, a murder case was charged against them. On 23 march,1931 in the Lahore Jail they were hanged. Their body was thrown at the banks of the Sutlej River. 

ABOUT MAHATMA GANDHI

Mahatma Gandhi as we all know about him is also known as the father of the nation.  His full name is mohandas karamchand gandhi. He was born on 02 october 1869 in porbandar, gujarat, india. Mahatma gandhi’s father is karamchand gandhi and mother putli bai. He was married at the age of 13 with kasturba devi and then he went to england for his higher studies. 

Gandhiji returned to India from South Africa in January 1915, at the request of Gopal Krishna Gokhale. He was a prominent political and spiritual leader for the involvement of the indian independence day.

Mahatma Gandhi is known for his efforts and ofcourse he is not only a name but a symbol of peace and non-violence in the whole world.

No doubt, he became popular as the Father of the Nation by his followers and is also known as Bapu ji.

Mahatma Gandhi has many achievements in fame for his non-violent protest theory to achieve political and social progress.

WHY IS MARTYRS DAY CELEBRATED ON JANUARY 30

Gandhiji was a freedom fighter, a simple man with huge determination, a man who had sacrificed his life for the independence, welfare, and development of India.

Nathuram Godse claimed to Gandhi that he is responsible for the partition of the country and the killing of thousands during the freedom struggle. He called Gandhiji the culprit and he did not feel guilty for his crime. 

HOW TO CELEBRATE MARTYRS DAY ACROSS THE COUNTRY

  • On this day the president, the vice president, the prime minister and the the defence minister on 30 january gathered at the rajghat where the samadhi of the mahatma gandhi to pay honour by putting a flower on their samadhi and salute to the bapu.
  • An honourable salute is also given by the armed forces personnel and inter-services contingent to pay respect to the martyrs. 2 minutes’ silence was kept there in the memory of the Father of Nation.
  • Several bhajans, religious prayers are also sung. Many schools have programs on this day in which students display patriotic songs and plays.

Salute to our martyrs. May the soul of all the martyrs rest in peace. May we create a nation in which they are always proud wherever they are looking at us.

So this important day tribute the martyrs who lost their lives for the nation.
